The seventh annual Wellfleet OysterFest was an amazing success! Many thanks to all the people who showed up to help us celebrate and to our very dedicated S.P.A.T board of directors, unbelievable volunteers, super sponsors, the good people who work for the Town of Wellfleet and, of course, our hard working community of shellfishermen.

About SPAT
Wellfleet Shellfish Promotion and Tasting or SPAT was named to honor the oyster, which begins as a free-swimming larva called spat. SPAT is a Wellfleet, Massachusetts based, tax-exempt, non-profit organization devoted to fostering greater understanding of the town’s shellfishing traditions. The annual Wellfleet OysterFest is our main event, and proceeds support our educational mission, including a scholarship program, which provides financial aid to people pursuing careers in shellfishing or to those whose creative or educational contributions will increase awareness of Wellfleet’s shellfishery, an important part of our community life.
